We recently had the pleasure of making a suit for Chanathip Songkrasin. Chanathip, more commonly known as Jay, is an attacking mid-fielder for Muangthong United and widely considered to be one of Thailand's best players. Well known and well loved in Thailand not only for his incredible goal scoring ability but also for being a genuinely nice guy. If you’re not a football fan, you might have seen him in Pepsi’s latest ad campaign. Ben recently sat down with him for a chat.

You play for one of Thailand's top teams. Was it always your dream to be a footballer and if you weren't what would you be?
I’ve always loved football and I can’t imagine my life without it. I feel so lucky to be able to play football for a living.

Who are your style icons? Do you like the way any other footballers around the world dress?
I don’t really have a style icon, I like to dress my own way. A lot of famous footballers around the world look good on and off the field, and if I had to choose one, it'll probably be David Beckham.

Have you gone to other tailors before and why did you choose us?
I’ve been to a few tailors but my brother recommended me to try TOT as they say the service and quality is amazing.

What do you feel most comfortable in, clothing-wise? Are you a suit guy or is football/athletic wear your day to day style preference?
I prefer to wear comfortable sports wear as I think it’s more casual. I don't like formalities. I’m a pretty easy guy.

In your opinion what is the one thing every successful guy needs in their wardrobe?
A well-cut black suit.

We have really enjoyed fitting and spending some time with you. Has it been a good experience? Would you recommend us to other people?
Likewise, I’ve never experienced anything like this and I would not hesitate to recommend TOT to anyone.

We know you are a very busy guy and you've just won Thailand's most popular player award. If you could win any award what would it be?
Not sure...!

Fair enough. You chose a black Mohair VBC suit. Your style is really classic. We like that. Have you every worn any crazy or loud suits in public?
Haha. Yes, I wore a red suit to accept an award last year.


Sounds like a good night. We love Thailand and we love being based here. If you could play anywhere else, where would it be?
I’d love to go play in Japan, the football scene there is crazy. I really enjoyed playing against their national team earlier this year.
