BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

HOW LONG DOES A SHIRT OR TROUSERS TAKE TO MAKE?

Shirts take approximately 3 days to produce depending on the volume ordered. (This can change depending on various factors) This means 2 full days after recording your measurements and choosing all of your options.

We generally make one shirt first and test the fit the following day. Any alterations are recorded, the pattern is then altered and used to make any remaining shirts. This is not a guaranteed timing but a general example.

If you do not have this amount of time in Bangkok we can ship the shirts to you but we do prefer at least one fitting. The same time frame and system will be used for trousers.

Please note that if you are buying shirts without a suit, the minimum order is 3 shirts. There is no minimum order for trousers. For more information on fittings please visit our How It Works page.

HOW LONG DOES A JACKET TAKE TO MAKE?

In order to ensure a perfect fit we require 4 full working days with 2 or 3 fittings. This means 3 to 4 full days after recording your measurements and choosing all of your options. We strive to achieve a perfect fit for all of our clients. If you don’t have 4 days in Bangkok, we can post the garments to you if they are not completed when you leave. The absolute minimum requirement is 3 days; 1 day to choose your fabric and customisations with 2 more days for fittings. We do not recommend this though, as there is no guarantee that the garment will have a perfect fit.

WILL MY SCHEDULE ALLOW ME TO GET A SUIT MADE?

Many of our clients travel around Thailand using Bangkok as a base. We will make appointments that fit around your schedule. You will require a total of 4 full working days in Bangkok. An ideal schedule would look like this: You would come in on Monday and choose your fabrics, your options, and we would take your measurements. Then we need about 24 hours to work on the garments and get them ready for a first fitting. The first fitting would be the next night, Tuesday evening. We would then need another 24 hours to work on the garments again. Your second fitting would be Wednesday evening. Ideally, we would do 1 more fitting on Thursday, as this is the best option to ensure a great fit. Otherwise, if you did not have any more time, we could work on the garments and ship them to you once completed.

DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENT?

Yes, we ask that clients order a minimum of 3 shirts if no suit or pants are purchased. If a suit is purchased or pants or a waistcoat then there is no shirt minimum.

PRODUCTS

DO YOU MAKE DRESSES?

No. We are a men's tailor and we do not tailor for ladies.

DO YOU OFFER FULL CANVASED JACKETS?

No, we currently don't. Fully canvassed jackets are very labour intensive and cannot be rushed. They take approximately 4 weeks to complete and the client needs to be available the whole time for fittings. Unfortunately this does not fit with the schedules of the vast majority of our clients.

OUR FITTING PROCESS

HOW LONG DOES A FITTING TAKE?

Your initial visit is what will take the longest. Depending on how decisive you are with choosing fabrics, styles and options it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. An average initial visit takes about 45 minutes.

Fittings usually take much less time as it is just yourself and your tailor discussing the fit of the garment and making any alterations. This usually takes about 20 minutes.

DO YOU KEEP MY MEASUREMENTS?

After your final fitting we take final sizes from your garments and store them, along with your paper pattern, for any future orders. So long as your sizes don’t change you are free to order anything and we will post the garments to you.

PAYMENT

WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?

We are one of the few tailors in Bangkok to have advertised fixed prices. For more information please visit our Prices page.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

We are one of the only tailors in Bangkok to offer fixed prices and as a result we are unable to provide discounts. Our customers can rest assured that when they come in they will be getting the same price as everyone else without having to haggle for a fair deal. However if you buy 10 shirts, we do offer 1 complimentary.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU USE?

In store we only accept cash in Thai Baht, Euros, GBP, US, Canadian, Singaporean or Australian dollars. In order to keep our costs down, we do not take credit card payment in store.

We also require a non-refundable 50% deposit in order to begin making your garment.

The nature of our bespoke business is such that each garment is cut specifically for each client and cannot be reused for anything else.

For online orders we accept PayPal.

GARMENT CARE GUIDE

SHIRTS

Our fabrics are pre-shrunk, however cotton garments may shrink up to 3%. For best practice, we recommend:

- Remove collar stays, button up, and wash inside out
- Cold wash (30°C)
- Hang dry
– Do not tumble dry
- For easier ironing, iron while damp

JACKETS

Jackets made from natural materials help the body ventilate and don’t need cleaning very often. To extend the life of your jacket:

- Dry clean only
– Clean no more than four times per year
- If creased, press professionally, do not steam
- Spot clean with water and mild detergent
- The natural fibers of your suit need time to rest
– Avoid wearing more than two or three times per week
- After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to ensure freshness and reduce wrinkling

WOOL TROUSERS

Wool is antimicrobial and naturally stays fresh. We recommend:
- Dry clean only
– Clean once per month if worn frequently
- After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to ensure freshness and reduce wrinkling
- For your favourite suits, we recommend buying a second pair of trousers, as they typically get more wear than jackets

COTTON & LINEN TROUSERS

Wash with care to avoid shrinkage and wear. We recommend:
- Cold wash (30°C)
- Hang dry
– Do not tumble dry
- When ironing, use a thin cloth between the iron and garment

ALTERATIONS AND ISSUES

CAN I CHANGE MY OPTIONS?

Once the fabric has been cut the options cannot be changed. Each item of clothing is cut in a way that it cannot be changed. For example: if pockets are cut sloped they cannot be changed to straight without recutting the fabric.

CAN MY CLOTHING BE ALTERED?

We understand that sometimes clients will take their clothing home and then change their minds about fit, or specific details. Obviously we cannot foresee this for you. Before you leave our shop you will be asked to acknowledge and sign off that we have done as promised and delivered what you have requested.

However, if this does happen you can bring your clothing back to us (or send it) and we will do our best to rectify whatever you’d like changed. However, there may be costs associated with this (such as you shipping it back to us and us having to ship it back to you, fabrics needing to be recut and so on.) Every case is different and we will be reasonable in our approach to finding solutions to any issues that arise. For example if you want your waistband taken in or your trousers hemmed, there will be no charge, but if you want your jacket pockets changed from slanted to straight, this involves recutting both front sections of your jacket and will be charged according to the prices in the link below.

After 30 days all alterations will be charged according to the prices in the link below. Shipping charges will also be the responsibility of the client. Please do not send any garments back to us without contacting us first.

ORDERING ONLINE

I AM A NEW CUSTOMER, HOW DO I ORDER ONLINE?

If you haven’t visited us in-store or at a Trunk Show, don’t fret! We have a very easy to follow video measurement guide that will assist you in measuring your best fitting garments from the comfort of your home. If you are not comfortable measuring your garments, you can also ship your best fitting garments to us in Bangkok. We will record the sizes, make your new order to these sizes, then ship everything back together to you.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU USE?

For online orders, we accept PayPal.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY BESPOKE GARMENTS?

Our turnaround time for online orders is typically 3-4 weeks for production + shipping. We always aim for faster turn around time where possible so you can enjoy your bespoke clothing sooner.

ARE CUSTOMS AND IMPORT DUTIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICES?

No, the customer will be responsible for any import duties and import taxes that may be applicable. We have no control over these charges, nor can we predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT THERE TO RECEIVE MY PACKAGE?

If you aren’t home and miss delivery of your package, please get in touch with your local post office at your earliest convenience to arrange delivery at a later date. It is best to do this quickly as the postal service will send the package back to us if it is unclaimed and there will be additional fees for reshipping the package out to you

WHAT DO I DO IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY ORDER?

We have a very high success rate and in the unlikely case that there are any issues, we typically offer a credit for local alterations for minor tweaks or in extreme cases remake the entire garment, in order to make sure that every client is happy.

Note: We have a 1-2 cm allowance for body and sleeve width (including back width, front width and shoulder width, a 1cm allowance for sleeve length and a 0.5cm allowance for collars and cuffs.

Our garments are hand-cut and sewn and no two garments will be exactly the same. This is part of the charm and unique nature of Bespoke clothing.

If there are any issues with your online order, don’t worry we’ll work it out! Here’s how it works:

 1. Notify us of the issue. Please take high-res photos of you wearing the garment from the front, side and back (preferably taken by another person). This allows us to assess the fit and determine the next step.

 2. We will contact a local alterations tailor and explain what needs to be done and agree on the price. Let us know if you already have a preferred alteration tailor and we will coordinate with them. We will then send you a quote on the alteration work. If the quote you receive exceeds the quote we give you, please let us know before proceeding with any work. We will not be able to reimburse for any alteration work done that we have not previously agreed on.

 3. You visit the tailor to get the alterations done and we will reimburse you via in-store credit or PayPal depending on what you prefer. We are unable to offer refunds on online orders as your clothing is bespoke made to your unique sizes. We will however work diligently with you to ensure that you are satisfied and have clothing that fits (whether that is local alterations, recutting garments, or future credit with our store). Tailor On Ten can also not be held liable for indirect or consequential losses.

TRUNK SHOW ORDERS

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?

When you come to your appointment you will be shown through our fabric ranges and guided through the design options by our experienced tailors
We take your exact measurements. Previous clients will have a chance to update their sizing and new customers will have a new unique pattern created for them
Please bring your current best fitting garments (don’t wear them), so we can get a size reference – this is essential for a good fit
We will take payment by card (charged in HKD)
The session takes about 1.5 hrs
Our tailors will get to work immediately and we will deliver your tailor made clothes within 6-8 weeks maximum but tend to be faster than that
Your measurements and designs are saved to your account, so with just a few clicks you’ll be able to order perfectly fitted clothes whenever you want
Please note that there is a minimum order of 3 shirts, unless you buy a suit

Please bring both a shirt and suit should you wish to get measured for both (even if you don't plan to buy them now). They don't have to be perfect as we'll work with you to improve the fit. We will use these to get a more precise reference than pure body measurements, which based on our experience, will allow us to tailor great fitting garments without any follow-up fittings.

For our terms and conditions, please read here.

ARE THE PRICES THE SAME AS IN THE SHOP?

WHAT IS YOUR ALTERATIONS POLICY?

Since fittings are not available during the trunk shows, we base sizing on a current garment the client owns and make adjustments to that as needed. In essence that means that the suit or shirt the client brings in functions as a fitting stage garment, allowing us to make tweaks from a good starting point. This, in our experience, allows us to achieve a great fit without fittings.

HOW DO ALTERATIONS WORK?
If there are any fit issues when your new suit is delivered, don’t worry we’ll work it out!

4. You visit the tailor to get the alterations done and we will reimburse you via in-store credit or Paypal depending on what you prefer.
