Scottish rock legends Mogwai visited Bangkok recently on their 20th Anniversary tour. Before the amazing gig, they made a visit to Tailor On Ten to get some bespoke shirts. Aside from being rock stars, they were also some of the nicest people we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with, and that puts them firmly at the top of our favorite Scottish exports, along with whisky and woolen tweeds. While fitting them we had a chat with Barry... 

Were these your first bespoke shirts?
Yeah, it's the first time I haven't just gone into a store and bought a shirt. They usually end up strangling me or just not looking very good. It makes sense to have everything fitted but I guess there just isn't time when we're always on tour so this was a treat.

What did you think of Bangkok?
It's fantastic. I've been on business and holidays here. My wife and I spent a Christmas and New Year in Thailand, part of it in Bangkok, so we've explored the place and the food, of course.

Being on tour for months, what's the secret to great tour clothing?
A hotel room with an iron and a weekly run to the laundry. These days everyone tries to travel light so a week's clothes are all you need. But I go overboard on shoes. Always at least 4 pairs.

What's the most stylish city you've seen? 
It's probably an obvious choice but I'd say Paris. They don't even look like they're trying but your eyes catch everyone.

Mogwai has been going for 20 years, are you in it for another 20?
Well. I don't think another 20 years is going to happen but we'll keep going as long as people keep asking us to play concerts and write soundtracks. It's still good fun.
