Peter is a student from Horst in the Netherlands that recently relocated to Bangkok. As most of our clients, Peter came to see us about a suit and liked it so much that he ended up walking out of the shop with six shirts and a pair of extra pants for his two-piece on top. 

Peter, where are you from? 
I'm from the Netherlands, more precisely Horst, a small town of 10,000 people. I studied in Eindhoven for the past few years and now I am here in Bangkok. 

What brings you to Bangkok? 
I was here a few months ago on an exchange program from my university, and I loved it so much that I decided to come back here for my internship. 

What kind of internship did you land?
While on my exchange, as part of the coursework we had to do a case study on a business consulting company, I was so impressed by the way they were conducting business that I decided to apply for a position. A few months later here I am.

What impressed you about the company?
I work for a Thai owned company. The way they conduct business is so different from the way we do things back in Europe, at least in my experience. Here there are more business opportunities, and, even if most companies are family owned, companies seem more dynamic. In Europe, it feels like an enterprise is sustainable when profits are steady. I think that companies here feel as if they are sustainable only if they are expanding.

That’s an interesting perspective. Do you like living in the city?
I love it. Coming to Bangkok on my exchange program was my first time outside of Europe. I really enjoyed living in a place so different from what I know. I feel that when I am outside of my comfort zone I am energized and I can push my limits further. I  really enjoy Thai food and Muay Thai.

Most of our customers are in love with the food here, but very few mention Muay Thai. Do you train?
I am currently looking for a gym close to my place, but I used to train back in the Netherlands. I was an assistant trainer and helped prepare fighters.
