Arrow: The Suits of Oliver Queen (Stephan Amell)
Posted: Sep 19 2013
As we all know, being a billionaire playboy and leading the secret life of a vigilante can be a tough gig but Stephen Amell does it with style. If you haven’t watched Arrow yet you should, it is basically the TV interpretation of Batman. A young man is the heir to an immense fortune, dad dies in a freak boating accidents, gets marooned on an island for 5 years and upon his return decides to go on a one man mission against the corrupted criminal underbelly that is loosely responsible. Pretty standard stuff really... The reason I find the show so interesting, aside from the caliber of action, is the disguises that Oliver Queen wears. I’m not referring to the green hooded outfit of the Green Arrow but the daytime wear that keeps him above suspicion. I mean who would think that some superficial dandy could ever be a night stalking badass. Seeing that Oliver Queen is not short on coin he can pretty much wear whatever he wants and he wears some pretty nice stuff. Tailor On Ten can make these suits for you and you certainly don’t need to be a billionaire to afford them. Let’s take a look and see if we can’t find something in Oliver Queen’s wardrobe that tickles your fancy.
Suit No. 1 is a simple yet totally awesome 2 piece charcoal sharkskin. We have a wide range of charcoal fabrics in a sharkskin weave ranging from Vitale Barberis Canonico to Holland & Sherry. This suit is a slim fit single breasted 2 button with tapered sleeves, high arm holes, slim notch lapel, flapped hip pockets and a single vent. To complete the discreet elegance of this look, you can pick up a classic Italian silk tie from our collection here.
Suit No. 2 is very similar to the first but this time in a gunmetal grey/blue sharkskin. We have this fabric in a beautiful Vitale Barberis Canonico Super 110. It’s a great example of how leaving the tie at home can give the suit a more casual feel.
Suit No. 3 is a bit of a misleading title but I’m a little bit OCD and like to keep things uniform… anyway, it is actually a Pea Coat with Brass buttons. This is great because it’s not often that you see Pea Coats these days and it’s not often that you see anything with brass buttons. I really like the look of this coat and we have a beautiful range of charcoal grey Angora Wool blends that match it perfectly, we can even cover it in brass and epaulets for you.
If you are considering the life of a vigilante crime fighter then you will need a suit for your daytime escapades and Tailor On Ten can meet all of your sartorial needs. So come and grab yourself some sharkskin!
